Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant - PRN

Rocky Mountain Care is hiring a PRN Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide home health services throughout the Cedar City and St. George, Utah area .

Our home health model is designed around quality, individualized care rather than productivity pressure . We do not schedule 15-minute therapy visits or overbook our clinicians. We encourage our therapists to take the time needed to provide thoughtful, effective treatment based on each patients unique needs.

Our occupational therapy team works closely with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team to help patients improve functional abilities, regain independence, and achieve a better quality of life.

Job Responsibilities

Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, the COTA will:

• Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Provide occupational therapy interventions to improve patients ability to safely and independently perform daily activities.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, and other functional tasks.
• Provide therapeutic activities and exercises to improve strength, coordination, balance, endurance, and functional performance.
• Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, safety techniques, adaptive strategies, and proper use of equipment.
• Assist with recommendations and training related to adaptive equipment and compensatory techniques.
• Monitor patient response to treatment and communicate progress and concerns to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Encourage and motivate patients throughout the rehabilitation process.
• Promote greater independence and participation in meaningful daily activities.
• Collaborate with Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Physical Therapy Assistants, nurses, caregivers, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
• Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with professional and regulatory requirements.
