US Analyst - Credit Analyst - Risk and Permanent Control

Job description Business type Types of Jobs - Risk Management / Control Job title US Analyst - Credit Analyst - Risk and Permanent Control Contract type Fixed-Term Contract Term (in months) 24 Expected start date 25/05/2026 Management position No Job summary DEPARTMENT: Risk and Permanent Control | Reports to: Senior Credit Officer US ANALYST PROGRAM The US Analyst program offers an opportunity for recent college graduates interested in finance and corporate/investment banking to actively participate in this fast-paced and challenging industry. The standard analyst program is two years, with analysts hired on an initial one-year contract. The goal of the analyst program is to develop top candidates into Full-Time Associate positions at the end of the two-year period. We provide our analysts with the tools necessary for professional growth and career advancement. ROLE SUMMARY Analyze and recommend counterparty credit exposures proposed by business units in the Americas. Assigned to the Power and New Energy Healthcare team within Counterparty Risk Analysis, with flexibility to support other projects as needed. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review credit requests from Front Office for completeness; interface with originators to obtain additional documents, projections, industry data, or other required information
- Write comprehensive credit analyses evaluating borrower's industry, competitive position, financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow), projections, transaction structure, exposure size, risks, and mitigants
- Review and recommend borrower credit ratings using the bank's internal rating model
- Collaborate with Sector Head to determine final recommendations for Senior Management and Credit Committee
- Manage file completion under supervision of Senior Credit Analyst and Sector Head to meet deadlines
- Verify data inputs (risk ratings, profitability assumptions) in databases and resolve issues with commercial units
- Monitor risk in assigned portfolio and prepare quarterly reports on sensitive names
- Support ad hoc portfolio or counterparty research requests
- Internal: Front Office, Senior Credit Analyst, Sector Head, Commercial Units
- External: Borrowers, Industry Sources
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field
- Prior internships in credit analysis
- Strong credit analysis skills
- Balance sheet and income statement analysis experience
- Understanding of cash flow and projection models
- Understanding of risk exposure and sizing
- Ability to analyze and summarize information
- Ability to prioritize effectively and work autonomously
- Strong teamwork and adaptability
- Effective decision-making skills
- Fluent English
- Must be eligible to work in the US without visa sponsorship now or in the future
- MBA or CFA
- Working knowledge of Spanish or French
