Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Outpatient IV Therapy position requiring chemotherapy/immunotherapy administration experience and a Maine RN license.

Details

• Outpatient infusion center setting, not a vascular access unit
• 21 infusion chairs with an average daily census of 46 patients
• Patient ratios range from 1:7 to 1:9 depending on treatment type and acuity
• Uses IV pumps for infusion administration
• Charts in Epic EMR
• Monday through Friday day shift, 7:45 AM to 4:30 PM
• No weekend or on-call requirements
• Float policy of 25 miles between facilities as needed

Requirements

• Active RN license to practice in the state of Maine (ME or compact license required)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience required
• At least 1 year of travel nursing experience required
• Experience administering chemotherapy/immunotherapy in an outpatient infusion setting required
• Active ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certification required
• Peripheral IV skills, central line care, medication administration, and blood transfusion experience required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in an outpatient infusion setting, including chemotherapy and immunotherapy administration
• Work as part of a collaborative, patient-centered care team
• Must be a self-starter with strong communication skills and the flexibility to adjust priorities throughout the day
• Scrubs of any color accepted except hospital-issued scrubs; unprofessional attire not permitted
• Air pods, laptops, and cell phone usage on the unit are prohibited
• Candidates residing within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility will be considered local, which may affect pay rate eligibility
• Local travelers are not eligible for renewals or extensions
• RTO should be minimal, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for a 13-week contract at the manager's discretion
• First-time travelers may be considered for this role
