Role Summary
Mercor is currently hiring a Data Annotation Specialist for a fully remote, contract‑based role. This position is ideal for detail‑oriented individuals with strong analytical skills and a passion for improving AI technologies. You’ll work on categorizing and labeling data—text, images, and other formats—using predefined taxonomies and rubrics. Your contributions will directly influence the performance and accuracy of AI systems used in real‑world applications.

- Commitment : 20 hours per week through December 2025, with potential for extension

Key Responsibilities
As a Data Labeling Expert, you will:
- Synthesize large volumes of data into structured formats
- Annotate and categorize text, images, and other data types according to detailed guidelines
- Apply predefined rubrics and taxonomies to ensure consistency and high‑quality outputs
- Identify and flag inconsistencies , ambiguities, or errors in datasets
- Contribute to the improvement of AI systems by ensuring data accuracy and structure
- Collaborate asynchronously with Mercor’s internal teams and platform tools
Must-Have Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must:
- Be based in the United States
- Have the ability to synthesize complex or high‑volume information into structured formats
- Demonstrate excellent written communication skills
- Be comfortable working independently and managing their own schedule
- Have access to a reliable internet connection and a distraction‑free workspace
