Senior Linux Administrator

Purpose and Impact Our contract supports more than 12 efforts with varying levels of hardware and software development requirements. Projects focus on front‑end equipment configuration/maintenance, back‑end repositories, front‑end dashboards, and all between for the full data processing thread. Teams range from one to two developers to a group of 12. Working directly with the customer, the team discusses requirements, identifies solutions, and chooses the next steps for implementation. This three‑contractor team focuses primarily on security compliance to maintain and renew Authority to Operate (ATO) status, and also supports migration to new baselines, new technologies, and health and monitoring dashboards. Work Schedule Monday–Friday: Normal schedule. Specific start and end times can be determined by candidate and the team for best schedule needs. Essential Responsibilities Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems. Supports day‑to‑day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc. Escalates and communicates status to agency management and internal customers. Supports the dispatch system and hardware issues and remains involved in the resolution process. Configures and manages Linux operating systems, installs and loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity, configures network components, and implements OS enhancements to improve reliability and performance. Creates bash shell scripts to aid in system stability and deployment repeatability. Manages daily configuration and operation of IT systems. Provides TierI (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution. Optimizes system operations and resource utilization; performs system capacity analysis and planning. Provides detailed analysis and feedback to management and internal customers for escalated tickets. Minimum Requirements 9+ years of experience as a Linux Administrator. 9+ years of experience in bash programming. 7+ years of experience in Perl/Python programming. 7+ years of experience with Linux (RedHat/CentOS5 or greater). Knowledge of web technologies (HTML, XML, Java2E, etc.). 3+ years of experience with virtualization. 3+ years of experience with Puppet. TS/SCI clearance with Poly required. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Studies or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution. If the candidate does not have a bachelor’s degree, an additional 4 years of experience are required. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or other containerization technologies. Compensation $180,000 – $235,000 Benefits Overview Health, dental, and vision insurance.
