Phlebotomist III - Floater

Pay Range: $17.00hr - $22.00hr


Job Overview:


The Phlebotomist III- Float represents the face of the organization to patients who present for care, both as part of their health routine or for insights into life-defining health decisions. The candidate draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures. The candidate has direct contact with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner. The candidate is responsible for providing coverage at multiple locations for multiple roles, ensuring that daily activities of the Patient Service Center, Mobile, Long Term Care, or In-Office Phlebotomy settings are completed accurately and on time. The candidate demonstrates leadership behaviors while focusing on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information. The successful candidate may be assigned to work and direct daily activity in a physician's office, patient service center, house call environment, long-term care facility, or as business needs dictate. The candidate must be able to lead one or more Patient Service Representatives on site, serving as a coach, mentor, instructor, and resource advisor for new employees while providing effective onboarding services to new clients. The candidate will act as a point of contact for on-site staff and provide regular input to the group lead or supervisor. The candidate may also focus on working with high-complexity or high-volume practices, requiring outstanding phlebotomy skills and advanced customer-facing communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration. The candidate must be capable of handling multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.


Required Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Work Experience:

• Five years phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Minimum 3 years in a Patient Service Center / In-Office Phlebotomy environment preferred.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboard and data entry experience.
