What You'll Do:

• Inmate Mental Health Services: Provide and assist in coordinating comprehensive mental health services for inmates.
• Policy Development: Collaborate on developing and implementing mental health policies, procedures, and services at the facility.
• Interagency Collaboration: Work alongside other agencies to ensure professional mental health services are provided to inmates.
• Staff Training: Coordinate and deliver in-service training related to mental health and inmate services for staff members as needed.
• Continuous Learning: Attend relevant training sessions coordinated by the Director of Staff Development, which may require travel to various locations.

What We're Looking For:

• 2+ years in correctional, forensic, or mental health treatment.
• Bachelor's degree in clinical or counseling psychology and a Master's degree in clinical or counseling psychology preferred.
• A valid state driver's license is required.
• CSAC- Certified Substance Abuse Counselor certification is preferred.
• Proficiency in detecting potential behavioral problems and referring inmates for appropriate treatment.
• Expertise in group and individual counseling techniques.
• Thorough understanding of community-based resources, mental disorders, diagnostic nomenclature, and intervention approaches suitable for a correctional environment.
