Job Summary:
Operating Room Open Heart Surgical Technologist at a healthcare organization in Reno, Nevada. This position involves assisting with cardiovascular and open heart procedures, preparing supplies, equipment, and instrumentation for surgical cases, and supporting the surgical team throughout all procedures. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

• Location: Reno, Nevada
• Schedule: Days (4 ten-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, to be determined upon arrival)
• Shift Hours: 10 hours per day
• Minimum Hours Per Week: 40 hours
• Required Qualifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Neurovascular Surgery Technologist Specialist (NBSTSA) certification, completion of a surgical technologist program, at least 2 years of experience as a CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) surgical technologist, and travel experience required.
• Responsibilities:
  • Assists with cardiovascular and open heart surgical procedures.
  • Prepares supplies, equipment, and instrumentation for surgical cases.
  • Anticipates needs in the surgical field when passing instruments.
  • Supports the surgical team in all procedures, including case cleanup, patient positioning, and room turnovers.
  • Conducts counts of instruments, sponges, and sharps with Registered Nurse (RN) according to department standards.
  • Ensures confidentiality and maintains a secure environment.
  • Pulls supplies/equipment/suture for assigned cases and opens surgical rooms.
  • Knows all basic set-ups assigned to scrub.
  • Adheres to all organizational confidentiality guidelines.
