Paralegal - Real Estate

Job Title: Paralegal – Real Estate Location : Chicago, IL Job Type : Full Time Pay: $60,000 - $80,000 per year Industry : Real Estate / Property Management Marc Realty is a full-service commercial real estate company that prides itself on owning, managing and leasing the best-located office buildings in the Chicago metropolitan area. We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented paralegal to join our growing team. POSITION OVERVIEW: As a real estate paralegal, you will be primarily responsible for managing and administering commercial lease agreements for Marc Realty’s property portfolio. This includes reviewing, drafting, and negotiating lease contracts, and providing support throughout the leasing process. You will also assist with acquisitions, dispositions, and other commercial transactions, as needed. The ideal candidate will be organized, proactive, and have a strong understanding of commercial contracts. RESPONSIBILITIES Lease Drafting/Negotiation/Administration : Draft, review, and revise commercial lease agreements, amendments, termination agreements, legal notices, and other related documents Assist in preparing redlines, formatting revisions, and incorporating attorney and business feedback into updated drafts Lease Data Entry & Reporting : Enter and update lease data in property management software systems Review and analyze executed lease documents and create lease abstracts, summarizing final lease terms Track lease transaction status and maintain leasing pipelines to ensure deadlines are met Cross-Department Collaboration : Liaise with property management, brokerage, and accounting teams to address lease-related inquiries and resolve open issues Document Management : Ensure all lease-related documents are properly filed, organized, and accessible Coordinate the execution of lease documents between tenants and property owners Help maintain and update contract templates and clause libraries Acquisition/Disposition Assistance : Assist with due diligence review for acquisitions, dispositions, and property financing transactions Other Administrative Support : Assist attorneys with corporate, real estate, and contract-related projects Provide general administrative support to the leasing team as needed EDUCATION EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree ABA-approved paralegal certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial real estate matters, preferably within a law firm or in-house legal team Strong knowledge of commercial contracts, preferably familiarity with commercial leases and real estate legal terminology Familiarity with lease management software and databases, preferred Experience assisting with commercial real estate acquisitions and dispositions, preferred OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Excellent organizational, communication, and negotiation skills Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Proactive and detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows-based software WHY JOIN US?
