MFM Sonographer

SonographerAdvantia's Maternal Fetal Medicine Department is seeking a full-time/part-time Sonographer to work out of 2-3 of the Practice in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area. To be successful as a sonographer, you should have excellent patient service and communication skills. You must have a keen eyesight and attention to detail and have technical skills, as well as sound judgment and decision-making skills.Job Responsibilities:Creates a preliminary report for physician review/signature.Reviews studies with physicians.Assists physician with procedures such as amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling.Codes appropriate for services performed.Maintains proper operation of the ultrasound equipment.Recognizes equipment malfunctions and takes appropriate corrective action.Maintains laundry for examination rooms.Responsible for maintaining adequate inventory of ultrasound supplies.Follows the accredited laboratory protocols for obtaining two-dimensional images, color flow, Doppler, and m-mode where applicable.Qualifications:High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.Graduate of an accredited sonography program with a degree in ultrasonography or equivalent.ARDMS OB/GYN certified or eligible.Fetal echo certification or eligible to obtain with 12 months of hire. Fetal echo experience preferred or will be provided. Participates in staff development, in-service workshops, and educational activities. Participates in professional development activities and meetings.Completion of a program containing OB/GYN ultrasonography.CPR certification required.Satisfactory completion of one of the following; at least two (2) years in Allied Health Educational Program and one (1) year on-the-job-training in ultrasonography, or completion of an approved ultrasonography educational program.Maintain or be eligible for certification as an American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS).Must provide evidence of continuing education credits to fulfill accreditation requirements.Benefits & Compensation:Health, Dental, and Vision InsuranceHealth Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Savings Account (FSA) Option401k Retirement Plan + company provided match after 1 year of employmentLife and Disability InsurancesPaid holidays & PTOCompensation Range: $55.00-$60.00/hrPlease note compensation is based on years of experience.Advantia Health is dedicated to providing unparalleled healthcare to our customers by employing the most highly qualified individuals.
