About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of surgical experience, including urology, trauma, orthopedic, general surgery, ENT, and other surgical diagnoses. License: Permanent license required with submission. Temporary licenses are not accepted. Certifications: BLS required. ACLS preferred. Must-Have: - BiPAP/CPAP management - Blood Product Administration - Central line blood draw - Chest tubes management - Colostomy and ileostomy management and care - Feeding tube care and management - Heparin administration - High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) management - Insulin administration - Isolation Precautions and PPE knowledge - Med/Surg experience - Nasal Cannula care - Orthopedic trauma care - Oxygen tank management - Patient Control Analgesia (PCA) administration - Peripheral Line Care and Management - Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management - Renal failure knowledge - Starting and maintaining IVs - Surgical drains management - Total joint replacement care - Use of Rapid Response and Code teams - Wound Care and Wound Vac management Description: This position requires surgical experience, including but not limited to urology, trauma, orthopedic, general surgery, and ENT procedures. Charge experience is preferred. Patient ratios are 6:1 during shifts. Weekend coverage is required, with shifts every other weekend. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation. The patient population consists primarily of adults and geriatrics. The unit accommodates up to 36 beds. Special procedures performed include continuous bladder irrigation, wound vacs, chest tubes and drains, tracheostomy care, ostomy care, and traction. Candidates must have the ability to work every other weekend and adhere to staffing regulations.
