Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant is responsible for the daily management of Hope House’s financial commitments made to program participants, staff, clients, donors, vendors and contractual partners. Primary Job Functions and Responsibilities: Manage Payroll and payroll reports between ADP and Quickbooks Manage Accounts Receivables and submit invoices to various customers and Program Participants Manage Accounts Payables and pay all invoices, mortgages, rents, sales tax, contractual service payments, etc. Reconcile bank statements and run reports for President/CEO Prepare and review month end and year end financial statements. Assist President/CEO with spreadsheet to formulate annual budget and enter into Quickbooks. Oversee Cash Management of Payroll, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payables and bank accounts. Manage and input donor reports into donor database system and log into quickbooks Reconcile monthly credit card statements and process all purchase receipts Work with outside accountant to process annual 990 and audit Manage and store insurance documentation for vehicles, property, liability & workman’s comp. Enter all donor contributions into donor database for approval by Director of Development Add or update constituent contact information when received with check and cash donations. Other duties as assigned, but not limited to the above, by the Director of Operations and/or President/CEO. Demonstrated ability to: Analyze complex problems and develop effective steps to keep financial accountability. Effectively organize and protect financial records Speak effectively and provide clear and concise written reports Organize; including but not limited to, planning, administration, and computer skills Perform well as a team member, taking direction, and managing assigned tasks effectively. Education Qualifications: Degree from an accredited institution with a financial background Relevant work experience in financial services and administration Language Skills: Ability to write reports and correspondence Ability to read, analyze, and interpret various reports relevant to financial health and impact Ability to articulate the financial goals of Hope House Ministries Ability to effectively present the mission, information and respond to questions about Hope House, including by not limited to; staff, donors, business and church partners, and participants Computer Skills: Ability to work easily with Google Drive, MS Office, Pages, Spreadsheets, Quickbooks Online and any other software packages as necessary for financial management. Ability to manage and organize organizational files effectively and efficiently. Ability to effectively use email, text, fax and voicemail in a time sensitive manner. Qualification Requirements: A believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, who is an active member in good standing with a gospel centered church that is in agreement to Hope House statement of faith. Ability to relate and convey the mission and vision of Hope House to the community at large and individuals who may visit Hope House.
