This position will be responsible for managing the valuation of portfolio assets within Carlyle Global Credits Asset Backed Finance business, comprised of 10+bn of AUM. Asset coverage includes Structured Finance Securities involving various ABS strategies (e.g. Student Loan Debt, Personal loans, Royalties, Credit Card Debt, etc.) and direct investment stakes. In addition, coverage includes Middle Market and Broadly Syndicated CLO Debt and Equity securities, Collateralized Bond Obligations (CBOs), and Collateralized Fund Obligations (CFOs). The individual will work with teams across the organization, including the Trading Desk, Asset Management team, Finance, and Technology in assisting in carrying out the valuation process for the assigned funds and managed accounts. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape and develop processes in a growing segment, requiring strong analytical skills, finance experience, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment./ppIn-Office Requirement: 4 days per week/ph3Responsibilities/h3ulliManagement of the valuation process for Asset Backed Finance products including deliverable tracking, presentation reviews, valuation model reviews, and completion of ad-hoc deliverables/liliCoordinate with third-party pricing vendors to ensure comprehensive pricing coverage, address valuation challenges, and manage ad-hoc pricing requests. Support adherence to the firms valuation policy through timely resolution of pricing-related needs/liliWork with the Asset Management function and Trading Desk on the completion of valuation reviews in line with Carlyles valuation policy as well as applicable accounting/industry guidance/liliSupport the maintenance and enhancement of existing valuation models, and contribute to the development of new models and methodologies/liliWork closely with deal teams to solve complex valuation situations, escalating as required/liliDrive enhancements and improvements to the valuation and reporting processes, procedures, and expand the use of technology/liliPrepare and maintain valuation analytics and reports at the fund and investment level, including PL attribution and analysis of performance drivers/liliIdentification of relevant credit specific metrics to include in the reporting/liliPresent valuation results to senior executives/liliPartner with finance and FPA to assist with forecasting firms economic net income and carried interest / incentive fees for budgeting purposes/liliManage and assist in the annual audit as well as interim reviews with the auditors/li/ulh3Qualifications/h3pEducation Certificates/pulliBachelors degree, required/liliConcentration in Finance Economics, or Accounting, preferred/liliCFA or progress towards CFA is a plus/li/ulpProfessional Experience/pulliMinimum of 5+ years of overall relevant professional experience, required/liliExperience in performing valuations of illiquid and complex securities, business valuations, and/or structuring, trading, or whole loan modelling, preferred/liliAdvanced knowledge of valuation methodologies and financial models for ABS, CLO, CBO, CFO, and other structured finance securities/liliStrong experience with third party systems such as Intex and Bloomberg/liliExperience in building cashflows models in Excel from scratch for Securitized Products preferred/liliKnowledge of Python (including machine learning packages), Alteryx, Power BI is a plus/li/ulpCompetencies Attributes/pulliAbility to develop valuation approaches for various forms of securities and unique instruments including equity and debt securities, loans, and structured products/liliMaintain detailed records of all inputs used in the valuation process over time/liliHighly self-motivated with a proactive attitude and a strong eagerness to learn/liliStrong communication and interpersonal skills to work with a wide range of individuals and personalities/liliStrong organizational skills and detail oriented/liliStrong analytical and qualitative skills/liliAble to work independently and proactively manage responsibilities to completion, especially under tight deadlines/liliCommitted to high standards of excellence and ethics, including the ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary information/li/ulh3Benefits/Compensation/h3pThe compensation range for this role is specific to New York City and takes into account a wide range of factors including but not limited to the skill sets required/preferred; prior experience and training; licenses and/or certifications. The anticipated base salary range for this role is $135,000 to $155,000.
