Job Description

The Utility Laborer accurately weighs, measures, and mixes raw materials to produce cleaning and sanitation solutions while supporting safe and efficient production operations. This role operates forklifts, handles materials throughout the facility, maintains a clean and organized work area, and follows strict safety and quality procedures. The Utility Laborer works closely with production and warehouse teams to ensure products move smoothly through batching, storage, and shipping.

Responsibilities

• Weigh, measure, and mix raw materials according to batch sheets and formulas to produce cleaning and sanitation solutions.
• Operate forklifts safely to move raw materials, finished products, and supplies throughout the facility.
• Load and unload materials from trucks and staging areas in a safe and efficient manner.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of batching, production, and staging areas to support safe operations.
• Monitor equipment during operation to ensure proper function and promptly report any issues to maintenance or supervision.
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment and safe chemical handling practices.
• Complete all required production and quality control documentation accurately and on time.
• Assist with inventory counts, material tracking, and stock rotation as needed.
• Perform other production-related tasks as assigned by the supervisor to support overall facility operations.

Essential Skills

• Ability to accurately weigh, measure, and mix raw materials according to written instructions and formulas.
• At least 6 months of forklift operating experience in a production, warehouse, or similar environment.
• Previous warehouse or production experience handling materials and working around equipment.
• Ability to lift and move 5075 lbs on a regular basis.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to follow instructions and complete documentation.
• Commitment to following safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and safe chemical handling.
• Ability to work effectively in a busy, congested facility while maintaining organization and attention to detail.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Batching or chemical manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.
• Experience operating forklifts in a warehouse production environment.
• Comfort working with cleaning and sanitation solutions and related raw materials.
• Ability to work collaboratively with production, warehouse, and supervisory staff.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sioux Falls, SD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
