The Division of Cardiology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center is seeking a highly motivated Clinical Research Coordinator to join an NIH-funded research program focused on sleep, cardiovascular disease, and women's health. The Clinical Research Coordinator will oversee the day-to-day implementation of an NIH-funded longitudinal cohort study examining the relationship between sleep patterns and cardiometabolic health among women.

The Clinical Research Coordinator will work closely with investigators, research staff, students, and collaborating biostatisticians to recruit and retain study participants, coordinate research visits, collect high-quality clinical and questionnaire data, and ensure successful execution of study activities. This position offers an outstanding opportunity for individuals interested in clinical research, public health, medicine, or graduate training.

This is a full-time, grant-funded position contingent upon continued funding.

Responsibilities

  • Administer study questionnaires and structured interviews.
  • Train participants in study procedures, including actigraphy wear, sleep diaries, home sleep testing, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, and other home-based assessments.
  • Collect anthropometric measurements, blood pressure measurements, and other study-related clinical data according to standardized protocols.
  • Coordinate biospecimen collection and processing with collaborating laboratory personnel.
  • Perform accurate data entry into REDCap and assist with ongoing data quality assurance.
  • Track participant progress, maintain participant retention, and coordinate follow-up visits.
  • Assist with IRB submissions and protocol amendments.
  • Coordinate participant reimbursement and maintain study records.
  • Assist with preparation of study reports, NIH progress reports, abstracts, presentations, and manuscripts.
  • Participate in weekly research meetings and collaborate with investigators, students, and research staff on ongoing projects.
  • Perform other research responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus 2 years of related experience in clinical research, human subjects research, healthcare, or a related field.
  • A Master's degree can substitute in part for the required experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience coordinating clinical or epidemiologic research studies.
  • Experience recruiting and retaining participants for longitudinal studies.
  • Experience with REDCap or other electronic data capture systems.
  • Experience collecting clinical measurements (e.g., blood pressure, anthropometrics) and administering research questionnaires.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and conducting community-engaged research.
  • Interest in cardiovascular disease, sleep, women's health, public health, medicine, nursing, or clinical research.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality research data and regulatory compliance.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Other Requirements
