Step into a vital role supporting student success as a full-time onsite Behavior Intervention Specialist for the 2025-2026 school year. This contract position requires a dedicated professional experienced in supporting students through positive behavior interventions and collaborative teamwork. You’ll join forces with another specialist and Special Education Administrator, supporting 2-3 school sites within a Minnesota district, providing critical consultation, intervention support, and staff training.

Qualifications:

• Licensed BCBA, Special Education Teacher (Tier 3 or 4 licensure required), or School Social Worker
• Proven experience implementing behavioral interventions in educational settings
• Skilled in conducting functional behavior assessments
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities
• Capable of using de-escalation techniques and comfortable responding to crises
• Knowledge of special education law, IEP development, and compliance standards
• RBTs are not eligible for this role

Responsibilities:

• Consult and collaborate with school teams to create positive, supportive environments
• Conduct functional behavior assessments and devise intervention plans
• Implement, monitor, and adjust positive behavior supports based on student data
• Provide regular training and guidance to staff regarding behavioral strategies
• Assist with the creation and implementation of individualized education plans
• Respond constructively to crises, utilizing evidence-based de-escalation and safety procedures
• Ensure ongoing compliance with school policies, state, and federal requirements
• Maintain a calm, flexible, and solution-oriented approach to daily challenges
• Complete additional duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education
