Field Service Technician

Job description Overview QES is seeking a skilled Industrial Field Service Electrician with a Journeyman background to join our growing team. In this role, you'll install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial electrical control systems directly at customer sites. This is a hands-on, travel-intensive position requiring up to 80% out-of-state travel. Key Responsibilities
- Install, test, and troubleshoot medium-voltage switchgear, control circuitry, and SEL/GE relays.
- Program, commission, and troubleshoot Satie control panels, PLCs, VFDs, and Soft-Starts.
- Apply standard troubleshooting procedures to ensure safe and efficient resolution of electrical issues.
- Provide customer support and on-site commissioning for industrial control systems.
- Maintain a strong commitment to safety, efficiency, and innovation in every project.
- Proven experience with industrial electrical systems and controls.
- Strong knowledge of PLCs, motor controls, and electrical wiring standards.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, and blueprints.
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Willingness to travel 50-80% of the time with flexibility in scheduling.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-first mindset.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Hands-on expertise in industrial electrical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic abilities.
- Ability to work independently at customer sites.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach.
- Commitment to safety, efficiency, and quality in all work.
- Adaptability to work in diverse industrial environments with travel demands.
- Journeyman Electrician license or related certifications (e.g., Siemens, Satie, Allen-Bradley).
- Prior experience in manufacturing, oil & gas, or heavy industrial environments. Quality Electrical Systems
