Responsibilities The Accounting Specialist in Accounts Payable will analyze information, process vendor bills, follow established procedures for handling invoices, assist with routine accounts payable duties, maintain complete and accurate records, provide support, and provide prompt, courteous responses to inquiries or complaints. Maintain accounts payable supporting documents for entry into the AP system, scanning paper invoices, downloading electronic invoices, and labeling appropriately. Assist with the invoice approval process, including routing invoices for approval and following up as necessary. Review vendor statements and enter adjustments or work with vendor to resolve. Review employee travel and expense reports for proper documentation, account coding, and compliance with the Company's travel policy. Assist the department in streamlining processes (e.g. finding opportunities to consolidate invoicing, improving the approval process, implementing a more automated system). Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to all work to ensure compliance with applicable standards. Assist and support the department Staff Accountant, AP and Senior Accountant, AP with assigned tasks. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education and Experience Requirements: Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent. Some college education, working towards an applicable degree, preferred. Minimum of one (1) year of relevant accounts payable experience. Experience working in multi‑unit industries preferred. Experience with Concur and Microsoft D365 preferred. Intermediate Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook skills preferred. Familiarity with all aspects of the process from vendor set up to invoice approval to invoice entry preferred. Knowledge of the following concepts: Invoice Aging, AP Sub Ledger, Vendor Accuracy, Duplicate Payments, Vendor Reconciliation, and Manual Payments preferred.
