Obstetrics/Gynecology

Locum Anesthesiologists needed to start ASAP and work ongoing near Sun Valley, CA.

Responsibilities and Coverage

• Cover approximately 3–4 days per week of OBGYN coverage both in clinic and in the hospital for deliveries.
• Clinic hours typically 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM, with an optional start at 8:30 AM.
• Call duties 3–4 days per week, generally from 5:00 PM – 7:00 AM, with weekend 24‑hour on‑call (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM).
• Primary call method: beeper.
• Call ratio: 1:4.
• Practice settings: inpatient and outpatient.

Clinical Skills Required

• Low‑risk and high‑risk pregnancy management.
• FHR interpretation – NST, CST, FSE.
• OB ultrasounds – performance and interpretation, Level I/Screening (viability).
• Routine delivery: vaginal, low forceps, c‑section decision‑making and execution, breech, multiple births, abruptions.
• VBACs and repair of 3rd & 4th degree lacerations.
• Office/minor gynecology: IUD placement, cystoscopy, colposcopy, cryosurgery, LEEP.
• Surgical gynecology – open and laparoscopic diagnostic/minor procedures only (tubal ligation, LOA, chronic tubation).
• Operative/major gynecology: ectopic pregnancy, ovary removal, cystectomy, extensive LOA.

Qualifications

• Licensed anesthesiologist in California.
• ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred.
• Credentialing period: up to 90 days.
