BEHAVIORAL MENTAL HEALTH PRACTITIONER - ARMHS

Adult Rehabilitative Behavioral Health Practitioner A full‑time position serving individuals diagnosed with mental illness and co‑occurring disorders in home and community‑based settings. Compensation starts at $20.26 per hour, increasing to $22.44 with a Bachelor's Degree, commensurate with experience. Schedule: Monday–Friday, flexible hours between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Responsibilities Instruct, assist, and support recipients in areas such as interpersonal communication skills, community resource utilization and integration skills, crisis assistance, relapse prevention, health care directives, budgeting and shopping skills, healthy lifestyle practices, cooking and nutrition, transportation, medication education and monitoring, mental illness symptom management, household management, employment‑related skills, and transition to community living services. Respond promptly to changes in mental status, symptoms or behavior that may put the recipient at risk and adjust the Individual Treatment Plan accordingly. Establish therapeutic relationships with assigned recipients, meet with each client as scheduled, and maintain appropriate therapeutic boundaries. Respect and appreciate cultural and other differences when interacting with co‑workers and recipients. Drive to client homes and various community locations to provide services, and occasionally transport recipients per supervisor direction. Complete all required initial and ongoing training to meet standards. Prepare DLA‑2 assessments, MHIS reporting, and develop individual treatment plans; complete and review crisis plans annually. Maintain recipient files in compliance with Minnesota Statute 256B.0623 and document all services accurately and on time. Participate in discharge planning for recipients discharged from intensive residential or inpatient settings. Coordinate ongoing care and participate in collaborative treatment planning, whether within CMMHC’s programs or with other entities required by the CCBHC statutory language. Actively participate in staff meetings and supervision sessions. Requirements Qualify as a Mental Health Practitioner (MHP). Provide 4,000 hours of work with individuals diagnosed with mental health, developmental disabilities, or chemical dependency diagnosis (can be part‑time over several years or 2 years full‑time). Alternatively, hold a master’s degree or another graduate degree in behavioral sciences or related fields. Alternatively, hold a bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences or related fields and complete a practicum or internship with at least 2,000 hours of direct interaction with adults or children focused on behavioral sciences. Clear DHS Background Study. Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
