Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager — Reno Division of a Silicon Valley Design-Build Leader

Reno, NV | Full-Time | $80,000 – $105,000 (DOE)

Our client — a premier design-build general contractor with 350+ employees and a portfolio of Silicon Valley's most recognizable commercial and tech projects — is growing their Reno division and hiring an experienced Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager. This isn't a rigid, title-obsessed shop: they run a horizontal organization where team members flow to the projects they fit best and good ideas win regardless of level. What You'll Do

• Manage RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings; keep logs current and the field unblocked
• Coordinate subcontractors and support buyout, scopes, and change orders
• Maintain project documentation, meeting minutes, and document control
• Support scheduling, procurement tracking, and long-lead management
• Review drawings and specs; flag conflicts and constructability issues early
• Assist with cost tracking, budgets, and pay applications
• Support QC walks, punch lists, commissioning, and closeout
• Work closely with superintendents and self-perform crews in the field

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related — or equivalent experience
• 2–5 years with a commercial general contractor as a PE or APM
• Working knowledge of RFI/submittal workflows, subcontractor coordination, and cost basics
• Proficiency in construction management software (Procore or similar), Bluebeam, and MS Office
• Strong communication, organization, and a proactive, team-first mindset
