An established manufacturer serving the construction, medical, industrial, and automotive markets is seeking a Human Resources Manager to lead the HR function for a multi-shift manufacturing operation. This position partners with plant leadership to support talent acquisition, employee relations, training, compensation, payroll, benefits, compliance, and workforce planning.
The role is well suited for someone who enjoys working in a manufacturing environment and building relationships throughout the organization.
- Lead the Human Resources function for a 125-employee, 24/7 manufacturing facility.
- Develop recruiting strategies and manage the full hiring process for hourly, skilled trades, technical, and salaried positions while building recruiting partnerships throughout Northern Indiana.
- Supervise the Training Coordinator and oversee onboarding, employee training, leadership development, succession planning, and retention initiatives.
- Partner with managers on employee relations, performance management, coaching, conflict resolution, and workplace investigations.
- Administer compensation, benefits, leave programs, HR policies, and employee communications.
- Manage compensation planning, including salary and wage benchmarking, annual merit planning, and labor budget development.
- Oversee employee benefit programs by evaluating plan effectiveness, working with benefit providers, and supporting employee education.
- Manage payroll and timekeeping processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Coordinate health, safety, and OSHA compliance initiatives in partnership with plant leadership.
- Develop and manage the annual Human Resources operating budget and support workforce planning and staffing forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, EEO, OSHA, workers' compensation, and wage and hour regulations.
- Maintain HRIS records, personnel documentation, reporting, and HR metrics.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Five or more years of Human Resources experience, including experience in an HR leadership role.
- Experience as an HR Manager, Human Resources Business Partner, Senior HR Generalist, or similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting hourly employees in a multi-shift or 24/7 manufacturing operation.
- Experience with talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and employment law.
- Experience developing recruiting strategies, workforce planning, and employee training programs.
- Knowledge of compensation planning, salary and wage administration, employee benefits, payroll, and HR budgeting.
- Experience administering HR policies and ensuring compliance with federal and state employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, EEO, OSHA, workers' compensation, and wage and hour regulations.
- Experience supporting workplace safety programs and OSHA compliance.
- Experience supervising and developing employees.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems, payroll and timekeeping systems, and Microsoft Office.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is preferred.
