Construction Project Manager - Small Company, Large Projects

About Our Client

My client is a growing disabled veteran-owned construction firm that has a robust pipeline of federal and private medical projects. They have over $50M worth of pipeline for 2026, and they need a project manager with a passion for learning new things who thrives in a small, tight knit environment. This person will manage projects from preconstruction to close, and have access to projects as large as $70M.

• Location: Janesville, WI
• Projects: Hospital, Public works, heavy industrial, private commercial
• Headcount: 20 people
• Self perform: Carpentry, all other work is CM
• Backlog: $50M in current work, $150M in active bid stage

Job Description

• Lead and coordinate all phases of construction projects from planning through completion
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery
• Serve as the primary liaison between clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
• Oversee quality control and compliance with safety standards
• Prepare and present project reports and updates to stakeholders
• Identify and mitigate risks and resolve issues promptly

The Successful Applicant

• Minimum of three years as a Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, or Project Engineer in commercial construction
• Bachelors in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Architecture strongly preferred
• Exceptional leadership abilities, inspiring and motivating project teams to achieve outstanding results.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills, facilitating effective collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
• Experience in preconstruction and estimating preferred
• Procore knowledge preferred
• OSHA certification preferred
• In-depth knowledge of construction safety practices, regulations, and compliance, prioritizing the well-being of the project team.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, adept at prioritizing tasks and meeting project deadlines
