Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor and Delivery

The Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery plays a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care by collaborating effectively with the healthcare team. This position requires both clinical competency and a commitment to patient education, ensuring that patient and family needs are met throughout the care process.

Position Summary

The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing patient needs, developing individualized care plans, and implementing appropriate interventions. The nurse ensures a safe environment while promoting health and well-being for patients and their families.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current Montana Licensure as a Registered Nurse
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Provider certification, with recertification every 2 years
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring Series Certificate of Completion (or equivalent AWHONN approved course), with FHM recertification required every 2 years (not required if a Lactation RN)
• American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (not required if a Lactation RN)
• Competence and willingness to practice modified primary nursing
• Completion of 2 hours of initial cerebrovascular disease (stroke) education
• If Lactation RN: Certification in lactation consulting/counseling (CLC, IBCLC)

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of experience in a Labor and Delivery setting

• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams in nursing practice

• Provide leadership within the nursing practice setting

Schedule Requirements

This position requires regular and reliable attendance. The role may involve working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and evening shifts. Participation in mandatory calls may also be required.
