Newborn Hearing Screen Technician - Per Diem

Newborn Hearing Screen Technician Join us in making a difference in the early detection of hearing loss in newborns as a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician! As a newborn hearing screen technician, you will provide hearing screens in the hospital after a baby is born. You will work on-site at one or more hospital locations to screen newborns for hearing loss. At Pediatrix, you will receive on-the-job training, including annual certification accredited by the American Academy of Audiology. Location Banner Gateway Medical Center Responsibilities Perform newborn hearing screens in hospital rooms. Educate parents about the importance of the screen using video and printed tools. Enter and validate patient data and screen results. Help confirm or reschedule outpatient appointments. Follow up on equipment issues and assist in training new staff. Verify insurance information with parent/guardian. Document hearing screen results accurately. Follow protocol for timely billing submission. Follow protocol related to security and identification of infants. Follow infection control, safety awareness, and other hospital, company, and program policies. Recognize potential problems and obtain assistance in a timely manner. Complete company and hospital orientation or classes, including patient privacy training. Maintain employee health requirements. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays. Preferred Experience One to three months related experience, preferably with infants and in a hospital setting. Experience working with infants. Experience in a hospital setting. Skills and Abilities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Computer proficiency and accurate data entry. Ability to prioritize daily tasks and assignments. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays. Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand and walk frequently (95% of shift). Ability to push or pull up to 100 pounds frequently.
