RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 3x12 hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM

• Weekend requirement: may be every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block

• Must work one holiday per 13-week contract

• Patient ratio typically 1:5 with staffing goal of 1:4

• EPIC charting experience required

• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

• Minimum 1 year of experience required

• First-time travelers accepted but travel experience preferred

• Float required within skillset to other PCU or medical-surgical level of care units

• Provide care for stroke and neurology patients as well as general medicine overflow

• Manage cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and dysrhythmia interpretation

• Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care

• Administer medications including cardiac drips without titration

• Provide respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management

• Maintain isolation precautions and telemetry settings

• Work with remote telemetry monitoring system

• 32-hour orientation program required

This large acute care facility is a Level I Trauma Center with over 700 licensed beds and Magnet designation. The hospital serves as a teaching facility and offers advanced specialty care including bariatric, trauma, and surgical services. The Stroke/Neuroscience unit is a Joint Commission certified primary stroke center that specializes in caring for hospitalist medicine patients including stroke and neurology cases. The facility maintains comprehensive interdisciplinary support services and utilizes advanced medical equipment and technology.
