JOB SUMMARY

PBS Facility Service is seeking a dependable, organized, and service-oriented Package Room Attendant to manage incoming and outgoing packages, mail, and deliveries at a residential property.

The Package Room Attendant is responsible for accurately documenting deliveries, securely storing packages, notifying residents, and ensuring that each item is released to the correct recipient. This highly visible position requires excellent attention to detail, strong customer-service skills, and the ability to maintain an orderly and secure package room in a fast-paced environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Receive packages, mail, and other deliveries from carriers and authorized vendors.
• Accurately scan or enter each delivery into the building's package-tracking system.
• Follow all established procedures for documenting, storing, and releasing packages.
• Sort and organize packages by resident, apartment number, size, or designated storage area.
• Properly store oversized, high-value, perishable, or special-handling deliveries.
• Notify residents promptly through the building's approved application, email, telephone, or other designated communication system.
• Verify the recipient's identity and apartment information before releasing any package.
• Obtain required signatures or electronic confirmation and update the package status accurately.
• Maintain control of package-room access and protect residents' packages and personal information.
• Monitor the package room to prevent package loss, theft, damage, or unauthorized access.
• Research and document missing, damaged, duplicated, or misrouted packages.
• Report delivery discrepancies, suspicious activity, security concerns, and unresolved package issues to building management immediately.
• Coordinate scheduled pickups and communicate professionally with delivery drivers, vendors, residents, and building staff.
• Respond to resident questions regarding package status, pickup procedures, and delivery concerns in a courteous and professional manner.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and clutter-free package room.
• Keep shelving, carts, counters, walkways, scanners, and other equipment in proper working order.
• Break down and dispose of packaging materials according to building procedures.
• Report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, and maintenance concerns promptly.
• Work collaboratively with concierge, doorman, security, property management, and other building personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Previous experience in a package room, mailroom, residential building, hospitality, retail, warehouse, or customer-service environment is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain accurate records while managing a high volume of packages.
• Basic computer and mobile-device proficiency.
• Ability to learn package-management and resident-notification software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Professional appearance, demeanor, and customer-service approach.
• Strong judgment, honesty, integrity, and discretion when handling residents' property and personal information.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple responsibilities.
• Ability to remain calm, courteous, and efficient during busy delivery periods.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Flexibility to work assigned shifts, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays based on operational needs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, reach, lift, carry, push, and move packages throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to safely operate package-room equipment, including carts, shelving, handheld scanners, computers, and mobile devices.
