Be one of the first to apply — offer rates tend to be higher at this stage Description American Traveler is hiring a Progressive Care Unit RN for a night shift assignment requiring ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke certifications along with a TX or compact RN license. Details Progressive Care Unit within a hospital setting 25-bed unit staffed with 54 FTEs, including charge RNs, staff RNs, and PCTs on both day and night shifts Manages stroke patients, cardiac drips, continuous BiPAP patients, and post-procedure patients Performs procedures such as emergent thoracentesis and telemetry monitoring Uses equipment including BiPAP, restraints, AIRVO, and bedside monitoring for seizure precautions and telemetry Documents using Meditech EMR Patient ratio of 4:1, flexing to 5:1 during staffing shortages Requirements Active TX or compact RN license required Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke certifications required Minimum 1 year of recent experience in the specialty required Preceptor or charge nurse experience preferred No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted) One professional reference required Additional Information Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver compassionate, high-quality patient care Compassionate team players with strong communication skills and integrity are best suited for this unit Unit policies and guidelines provided upon orientation Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered; no local candidates accepted First-time travelers are welcome to apply These details are based on information provided by the facility and may include inaccuracies or be subject to updates.
