Pay as Cross Country posts it: about $2,005 a week in all, a taxable rate of $15 an hour plus $1,404.70 a week in housing and meal stipends.

Job Summary

Sterile Processing Tech. The position is responsible for independently performing decontamination, disinfection, sterilization, packaging, and reprocessing of surgical instruments and equipment. The role also supports quality assurance, equipment maintenance coordination, inventory management, and team training.

Job Details

• Schedule: Rotating shifts, 8 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of experience; high school diploma or equivalent; current sterile processing certification through an approved certification board or professional association; current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; strong oral and written communication skills; attention to detail; effective organization; computer skills; and the ability to work independently.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a healthcare environment; knowledge of infection control, surgical instrumentation and instrument care, sterile techniques, and inventory management; strong hand-eye coordination; self-motivation; and demonstrated project ownership.
• Additional Information: Responsibilities include thoroughly disassembling, cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and packaging instruments and equipment; performing autoclave and other multi-step reprocessing procedures; documenting sterilization procedures and monitoring results; verifying equipment functionality; coordinating equipment maintenance, repair, or replacement; removing defective equipment; communicating with clinical staff regarding instrument shortages and alternatives; maintaining competency through return demonstrations and continuing education; assisting with team training; and supporting product ordering, stocking, inventory checks, and related supply management activities.
