Appian Architect - Civilian

Responsibilities Guide clients on architecture design, integration, scalability, configuration management, DevSecOps, and other program initiatives to drive technical success. Work with client enterprise architecture teams to design and deliver solutions that fit their unique needs and ecosystems. Guide implementation teams through complex technical solutions with Appian and tangential technologies. Ensure solutions are built for scale and performance. Integrate multi-tier architecture through integrations and system configuration. Evaluate emerging or incumbent technologies for value and fit in client or back‑office implementations. Create and document implementation best practices and knowledge base articles for internal enablement. Provide thought leadership on process improvement. Support internal solutions, infrastructure, and tools. Mentor, train, and enable resources. Qualifications 6+ years of experience with Appian solutions. 6+ years of related IT experience. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Systems Engineering, or related field. Active Appian Lead Certification. Strong experience with Agile delivery. Strong technical implementation skills. Strong database design and development skills. Experience evaluating and resolving issues found during system security testing. Experience with Appian Cloud configuration and support processes. Experience implementing Cloud, On‑Premises, and Hybrid platform deployments. Experience in network infrastructure concepts and troubleshooting techniques. Strong communication, analytical, and strategic foresight skills. Strong organizational skills, ability to work in a high‑paced environment, multi‑task, and work both independently and as a team. Preference for candidates local to the DC Metro area; U.S. Citizen required. Willingness to travel 0‑15% to client meetings in Washington, DC area and Dallas, TX. Technical Skillset RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL) Authentication (SAML, Kerberos, OAuth, LDAP) Web services, integrations and middleware (RESTful/SOAP, Mule/IIB/Fusion) Cloud Computing/IaaS (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) Source Control (Git, SVN, CVS) Software troubleshooting and performance tuning.
