As an Operator, you'll join a collaborative team ensuring that our clients can deliver their services uninterrupted. Based in Southbridge, MA, you'll perform a variety of tasks in the operation and maintenance of a water treatment plant. You'll operate, repair, and maintain the water treatment plant's facilities; perform routine laboratory tests; understand and carry out oral and written directions; establish and maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted during the course of work.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Operates treatment facilities to control flow and processing of water/wastewater, sludge, and effluent
• Monitors gauges, meters, and control panels
• Observes variations in operating conditions and interprets meter and gauge readings
• Operates valves and gates either manually or by remote control
• Starts and stops pump, engines, and generators to control and adjust flow and treatment processes
• Maintains shift log and records meter and gauge readings
• Takes samples and performs routine laboratory tests and analyses
• Performs routine maintenance functions and custodial duties
• Makes operating decisions in absence of supervisory personnel
• Does related work as required

Here's what you'll need:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience operating a wastewater treatment facility
• Experience with sound safety principles and practices
• Experience with computer operations with the ability to prepare spreadsheets and word processing documents, and enter information into maintenance management system
• Possess a valid driver's license

Ideally, you'll also have:

• Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools employed in the general operation of engines, pumps, valves, motors, and related equipment; general maintenance work; safe work practices; principles and methods of biological and chemical sewage analyses, effects and problems of industrial waste in water/wastewater treatment processes, principles of supervision
• Knowledge of computer software including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, data management systems and be able to operate plant PLC's and SCADA systems

Posted salary range: Minimum $44,300.00 to Upper $63,360.00.
