Baylor Regional Medical Center Grapevine Address: 1650 W College St, Grapevine, TX 76051 $10,000 Sign‑On Bonus and relocation assistance available Job Summary Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, under general supervision, helps physicians during catheterization and electrophysiology lab procedures. Prepares room and equipment, instructs patients, monitors patient’s condition, and provides routine and emergency care during procedures. Contributes to the orientation and training of other team members. Helps with daily, monthly, and quarterly quality control initiatives through auditing and reporting. Essential Functions of the Role Help physicians with arteriograms, catheterizations, permanent pacemaker implantations, implantable cardiac defibrillators, diagnostics and interventional procedures (peripheral, coronary). Follow national and state radiation protection regulations for patients, self, and staff. Provide emergency procedures like CPR and defibrillation as needed. Perform pre‑ and post‑procedure care and monitoring. Orients patients for catheterization or electrophysiology procedures and answers related questions. Monitor patient’s ECG, pressures, temperature, and impedances while in the Electrophysiology Lab; notify physician of variances. Assist in running RF/Cryo ablation systems, 3D mapping, and record other procedural documentation. Manage and maintain images that may include stenosis testing, formatting, and processing on both cardiac and peripheral cases. Collect registry and quality data, gather catheterization data, and prepare procedure reports. Prepare and maintain sterile fields for lab procedures; order and maintain inventory of procedure room supplies; ensure rooms are adequately stocked and equipment has not expired. Coordinate and audit resources during yearly inventories; perform routine calibration and maintenance of complex equipment; notify appropriate team members for fixes. Assist in orientation and training of new staff and students; perform additional duties as established by supervisor. Oversee quality control monitoring (NPSG auditing, turnaround times, performance improvement initiatives, daily, monthly, quarterly). Participate in mutual governance, department, hospital, or professional organizations and committees including LEAN initiatives, NOBLE, 5S projects. Transport patients to and from procedural area; demonstrate good customer service skills. Key Success Factors Must have an associate’s degree in a related field or 2 years of related cardiovascular lab experience. Must be available for on‑call response requirements per facility/department policy. Knowledge and ability to apply complex invasive cardiac and vascular values, instrumentation, and techniques. Knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology. Required Qualifications Education: Minimum of an associate degree or 2 years of work experience (2 years preferred but not required). Graduate of an accredited RCIS related Technical or Associate's degree program preferred. Experience: 2 years Cath, EP, or vascular experience preferred but not required. Licensure / Credential: Must hold a Radiography or imaging credential: ARRT‑R (American Registry of Radiologic Technicians) and MRT through TX Medical Board or RCIS (Reg Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) preferred. Certification / License / Registration ACLS within 30 days of hire/transfer. BLS within 30 days of hire/transfer. ARRT‑R, Cert Cardiac Device Spec (CCDS), Cert EP Specialist (CEPS), Medical Radiologic Tech (MRT), Reg Cardio Electrophysiology (RCES), Reg Cardiovascular Invasive Sp (RCIS) – Must meet one of the following: ARRT‑R and MRT through TX Medical Board, or RCIS, or RCES, or CEPS, or CCDS. On‑Call STEMI call required, approximately 7–8 days of call per month including one weekend. On‑call response time to the facility is within 30 minutes of notification. Schedule Full‑time, 4 days a week – 10‑hour day shifts, Monday–Friday 6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.; holidays and night call coverage for emergent procedures. 10‑hour shifts; on‑call 7–8 days a month, including weekends and holidays.
