This position will report to our EnerSys Energy Systems business, which serves the telecom, cable broadband, industrial, renewable, and data center markets. Job Purpose: Manage and ensure the purchasing of materials, services, and/or equipment for the assigned purchasing portfolio, within the set procurement policies and guidelines, to ensure an uninterrupted and timely supply at optimum cost within specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Reviews customer orders on a daily basis
• Contact potential vendors, perform reference checks, review quotations and evaluate each purchase requisition for the most appropriate methods of procurement
• Review purchase orders for accuracy
• Establish priorities for assigned commodities with key vendors and ensure priorities are maintained
• Maintain effective communication with both internal and external customers
• Interface with all levels of management both internally and externally
• Continuously strive to reduce the cost of assigned commodities
• Interact with engineering department to assist in the sourcing of materials, with respect to cost, quality, and availability of materials
• Generate reports per specified processes that measure key buyer performance metrics

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2-3+ years experience in a similar position
• At minimum High School Diploma, preferred Associate's or bachelor's degree in procurement or a related field
• Knowledge of software programs, including MS Office, etc. Preferred
• Foreign language is a plus, English a must
• A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills. Must be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced quickly changing environment.
• Knowledge of MRP and ERP
• 2-4 year college degree or higher in business or related field
