Everwood Preserving Forklift OperatorEverwood Preserving is seeking forklift operators. This is a full-time position offering competitive pay and full benefit package.Job duties include:Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials and transports load to designated area.Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device.Inventories materials on work floor and supplies workers with materials as needed.Weighs materials or products and records weight on tags, labels, or production schedules.Unloads material from commercial truck flatbed trailers, stages material in the white yard inventory, and loads product onto tram for processing.Monitors trams and production of cylinders to ensure efficient flow of material through equipment.Lubricates truck, recharges batteries, and fills fuel tank.Assists in housekeeping and clean-up activities as needed.Assists in picking up lumber and other materials due to spills.Keeps material stacked evenly, safely and in an organized manner.To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following:Responds promptly to customer and plant needs through the safe and efficient unloading of trucks and the organization of product in the white yard inventory.Listens and gets clarification; Able to read and interpret written information; Able to effectively communicate with supervisor, treating engineers, and other employees as needed within the scope of the job.Contributes to building a positive team spirit.Follows policies and procedures; Completes administrative tasks correctly and on time.Includes appropriate people in decision-making process.Uses time efficiently.Treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position.Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Meets productivity standards; Completes work in timely manner; Strives to increase productivity.Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly.Is consistently at work and on time.Follows instructions, responds to management direction.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred with 2 years forklift experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to complete required paperwork. Ability to speak effectively to supervisors and treating engineers.Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
