Teaching Assistant Professor - Graduate College

Description The Graduate College at North Carolina A&T State University invites applications for a 12‑month, full‑time, non‑tenure‑track teaching assistant/associate professor position. An appointment at the teaching professor level may be considered for exceptionally qualified applicants. The initial appointment is two years and is eligible for renewal. The successful applicant will be expected to show commitment to teaching excellence, engage in culturally responsive teaching and high‑impact practices in teaching graduate‑level professional development courses and workshops, advise and mentor students, and provide service to the Graduate College, university, and professional community. Primary duties include but are not limited to teaching graduate courses, conducting tutoring and supplemental instruction, serving as an academic advisor for students in a graduate certificate or post‑baccalaureate programs, supporting student success initiatives, and providing other academic services to the Graduate College and the University. A candidate whose teaching and service efforts will promote the strategic vision of the Graduate College and the University is highly desired. Collaboration with colleagues from other programs and departments is expected. Requirements Must have earned a doctoral degree from an accredited institution. Must possess outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. Must be collegial and able to collaborate with supervisors, faculty, staff, and students. Preferred Experience teaching graduate student professional development courses or workshops. Familiarity with culturally responsive and sustainable best practices in graduate instruction. Knowledge of recent student‑centered active and engaged learning strategies. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer‑service skills. Experience with student success initiatives and service to diverse populations. College/university‑level teaching experience.
