Open-Rank Professor of Chemistry

The Chemistry Department at Wesleyan University invites applications for an open-rank tenure-track Professor of Chemistry position in any of the areas encompassed by experimental physical, computational physical, or inorganic chemistry, with an expected start date of July 1, 2027. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a vibrant, externally funded research program involving both graduate and undergraduate researchers. Candidates should also demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Special consideration will be given to candidates capable of teaching courses in both introductory and advanced topics of physical chemistry or inorganic chemistry for both undergraduate and graduate student populations. Additional duties include advising and mentoring students and participating in faculty governance at the departmental and university level. Candidates who have demonstrated success in working with diverse populations and whose research could contribute to Wesleyan’s interdisciplinary programs (including, but not limited to, the College of the Environment, the College of Integrative Sciences, and the College of Design and Engineering Studies) are especially encouraged to apply.
