Job Summary:
The organization is seeking an Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) Registered Nurse (RN) for a night shift position. This role involves providing specialized patient care within a cardiac step-down unit, with a focus on patients diagnosed with cardiac conditions. The RN will be responsible for delivering high-quality care and contributing to a collaborative healthcare environment. Starting date is scheduled for August 24, 2026.

Job Details:

• Location: Lynchburg, Virginia
• Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license in Virginia or State Compact, active VA/Compact license required upon start, 2 years of RN experience in a similar setting, proficiency with Cerner EMR (preferred), and active BLS certification.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cardiac patient populations, familiarity with wound vacs, IV pumps, pulse oximeters, chest tubes, tube feeding pumps (Kangaroo), oxygen delivery devices, and remote tele capabilities.
• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information: Orientation starts on 8/10 and 8/24, held every other Monday. Must submit all credentialing 1 week prior to start. All requested time off must be included at submission. Local travelers under 60 miles will not be accepted. Client may cancel up to 36 hours before the start due to census. The facility is a teaching hospital with frequent interactions with students and new hires. All team members are expected to foster a supportive environment.
