What you'll get to do: \n
\n
\nThe Manager Systems Engineering 2 - Reliability is responsible for providing functional leadership and direction to approximately 10 to 15 Reliability, Human Factors, and/or Systems Safety Engineers. The role is dual-hat; responsible for both section management (20% of the time) and program related reliability, human factors, and systems safety programs (80% of the time). The selected candidate will lead a diverse and distributed team comprised of multiple skillsets and must be able to effectively communicate technical issues and solutions. A successful track record of program performance, interpersonal team building skills, and management experience is a must. The job also includes management of time keeping, performance reviews, staffing and resource planning, training, and team engagement for their section\n

\nThe selected candidate will be responsible for managing engineering efforts related to Reliability, Human Factors and System Safety for Launcher programs at Marine Systems. Primary responsibility is in support of submarine launched missile.\n
\n
\nTypical deliverables include: Reliability/Availability/Maintainability program plans, test plans, and analyses; System Safety/Human Factors program plans, test plans, and analyses; Special Study Analyses; Product Service Life Assessments; Customer approved Fleet corrective actions; Performance incentive claim letters; Risk assessments; and Cost Performance Reports.\n
\n
\nAdditional responsibilities include: Management of a Web based software system to process and respond to Trouble Failure Reports; management of software development and maintenance for a hardware centric technical database; management of repair activities on several Fleet deployed electrical products; and serving as primary POC to customers for all efforts described above. \n
\n
Basic Qualifications: \n
\n

\n
• Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline with 9 years of engineering experience; OR a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline with 7 years of engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline with 4 years of engineering experience.
\n
• Project management experience; tailoring of requirements for reliability and system safety programs.
\n
• Knowledge and experience in the reliability and system safety discipline.
\n
• Experience in conducting failure analysis investigations for root cause; and statistical analysis of engineering data.
\n
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and military specifications.
\n
• Excellent communication, mentoring, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all involved employees.
\n
• Must be a US Citizenship
\n
• Active US Government Secret Clearance.
\n

Preferred Qualifications: \n
\n

\n
• Master's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline (preferred Mechanical or Electrical Engineering).
\n
• Prior team lead, assignment manager and/or performance management experience.
\n
• Experience on Navy programs.
\n
• Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), requirements development, or technical project management experience preferred.
\n
• Understanding and knowledge of Agile (SCRUM) techniques and activities.
\n
• Knowledge of Systems Engineering processes, procedures and work instructions required to support both management and engineering tasks
\n
• Experience with proposals

\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $161,100.00 - $241,700.00\n
\n
\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n
\n
\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
