About the Role
The Company is seeking an Associate General Counsel to serve as a senior legal advisor, providing practical and results-driven counsel across a range of legal areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving outcomes in insurance law, contract negotiation, reinsurance, privacy and data security, health law with a focus on supplemental health products, professional liability claims, litigation management, and regulatory compliance. This role requires a trusted legal advisor who can collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, lead contract negotiations, and ensure that all agreements are commercially sound and legally compliant. The Associate General Counsel will also partner with the company's designated Privacy Officer and Chief Information Security Officer on privacy and security matters, and will be involved in the development and implementation of new business initiatives. Applicants must have a Juris Doctor degree, be licensed to practice law, and have at least 10 years of legal experience, with a strong background in structuring and negotiating business transactions. Essential skills include the ability to draft and interpret complex corporate contracts, knowledge of federal and state privacy laws and regulations, and experience in managing professional liability claims and litigation. A professional privacy designation is preferred, as is recent experience in a customer-centric environment and a background in various insurance products. The role demands a candidate with a proactive approach, strategic thinking, and the ability to support and advance key projects while mitigating legal risks.
