Logistics Planner IIIOn behalf of SEWS (USA, Canada, and Mexico) BU, Div, and locations, plan North American freight import-export operations via standard (domestic overland and air freight), and abnormal (expedited air and truck) modes, with a focus on QCD, vendor management, cost, risk, and routing stability. Support manager and peers through proactive planning, communication, countermeasure creation and implementation, follow-up, and consistent continuous improvement activities.Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesOn behalf of NA Operations, create logistics plans for current and mid-term standard (North America overland and air freight) mode routes, support implementation monitoring, countermeasures, and reporting of status.On behalf of NA Operations, create logistics plans for current and mid-term abnormal (expedited air and truck) mode routes, support implementation, monitoring, countermeasures, and reporting of status.On behalf of NA Operations, facilitate and maintain vendor management system, with a focus on QCD, a competitive bidding process, and internal policy, procedure, and compliance.On behalf of NA Operations, facilitate and maintain vendor service rate and cost tables, vendor KPIsOn behalf of NA Operations, lead project based cost reduction and continuous improvement activities.On behalf of NA Operations, plan and manage current and future finished goods packaging (both customer returnable and expendable), work closely with GPP and RM packaging planning membersSupport NA Operations Manager (and connected sections and departments) with information and data management, budgeting, reporting activities.Support NA Operations team functions as directed by the managerCoordinate, author, and maintain policies, procedures, and work instructions for the sectionQualificationsBachelor's degree5 to 7 years professional experienceBudgeting, business planning, or accounting related (academic or professional) experienceBusiness acumen, ease with business level math and accounting environmentMicrosoft Office, including Excel, with intermediate level formulasExcellent written and verbal communicationLogistics, freight, and/or import-export experienceBusiness level Spanish speaker (Required)Preferred: Business level Japanese speaker (NOT required)Project management roleAbout Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems, Inc.Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems, Inc.
