RN Pediatrics

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in the Ambulatory Pediatrics Clinic provides specialized nursing care and support to pediatric patients in an outpatient setting. This role requires expertise in pediatric ambulatory care, including vaccine administration, blood draws, and CLIA waived testing. The nurse will collaborate closely with the healthcare team to deliver high-quality care, maintain patient safety, and ensure effective communication with patients and families. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is essential to meet the needs of the patient population. Responsibilities:

• Provide skilled nursing care to pediatric patients in an outpatient ambulatory clinic setting.
• Perform pediatric vaccinations and administer blood draws as required.
• Conduct CLIA waived testing and accurately document results.
• Assess patient health status and communicate findings to the interdisciplinary team.
• Collaborate with providers, patients, and families to develop and implement treatment plans.
• Maintain compliance with clinic policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure proper infection control and patient safety practices are followed.
• Participate in patient education and provide culturally competent care.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license to practice in Colorado.
• Minimum of 5 years pediatric clinic or ambulatory care experience.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
• Experience with pediatric vaccines, blood draws, and CLIA waived testing.
• Current flu vaccine required, no exemptions allowed.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience working in outpatient or ambulatory pediatric clinics.
• Additional certifications or training related to pediatric nursing or ambulatory care.

Special Considerations:

• Must maintain current flu vaccination without exemptions.
• Work environment is an ambulatory pediatric clinic requiring strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Bilingual ability in English and Spanish is mandatory to effectively serve the patient population.

Scheduling:

• Work schedule aligned with ambulatory clinic hours; primarily day shifts.
• Shift assignments based on clinic needs and staffing requirements.
