Job Highlights Schedule: Full Time, Days, 3x12-Hour Shifts/Week, 7am to 7pm, Saturdays, Sundays & Mondays Shift Differentials: Available for night, weekend, and additional shifts Job Summary Provides a reasonably safe and secure environment by delivering security services for staff, patients, and premises. Acts as a role model and guide to junior officers and responds as a first responder to urgent facility matters. Responsibilities Protects property and staff by conducting interior and exterior rounds; observe for safety and security issues; monitor parking areas. Promotes visitor and employee safety on organization property by performing door checks, identifying lighting deficiencies, verifying elevator operation, assisting with disruptive individuals, patient restraints, and providing escorts as requested. Responds to overhead pages or requests for assistance, including escorting emergency personnel; provides post-mortem services as needed. Delivers professional customer service in dynamic situations; proactively identifies safety and security hazards in communication with clinical staff. Observes and reports security concerns; completes incident reports and shift logs; forwards to appropriate personnel. Provides maintenance assistance through property conservation and campus safety activities (alarm testing, life safety equipment checks, AEDs, oxygen tanks, fire extinguishers, access control, badging, door integrity checks, etc.). Creates and issues ID badges; reviews and investigates incidents using the video management system. Conducts regular testing of fire alarms, elopement procedures, infant abduction protocols, and panic alarms. May be responsible for field training; may operate a motor vehicle to patrol. Works in a constant state of alertness and safety; performs other duties as assigned. Education & Experience Education: High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience. Experience: Two years' experience. Additional Requirements Following a conditional offer of employment, the applicant must successfully complete a psychological assessment to confirm suitability for security duties as described in this job description. Physical Requirements Constant use of hearing and vision (distance near and far). Constant lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects 0–25 lbs; frequent 25–50 lbs; occasional over 50 lbs. Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, twisting; occasional climbing, kneeling, sitting, squatting, reaching, repetitive movements. Occasional keyboard use; occasional use of smell to detect odors; rare crawling, running, and lifting/moving patients. Licenses & Certifications State-specific requirements apply based on work location: Illinois: Driving Record (MVR) and Driver License; Firearm Owner Identification Card (FOID); Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC) or Active Law Enforcement Officer (ILETSB). Missouri: Driving Record (MVR) and Driver License; Security Officer License (St. Charles County or St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department). Oklahoma/Wisconsin: Driving Record (MVR) and Driver License.
