JOB OVERVIEW Job ID: 104081 Profession: Physician Specialty: Emergency Medicine Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Laredo, Texas Coverage Period: Oct 03, 2026 – Ongoing Shift Schedule: 12-hour shifts Reason for Coverage: Coverage Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered PATIENT INFORMATION Average Daily Volume: 67 patients per day Case Mix: General ED, trauma, pediatric transfers, behavioral health FACILITY INFORMATION No. of Beds in Department: 13 (8 regular, 2 negative pressure, 2 trauma, 1 cardiac) Trauma Level: Level III EMR System: Cerner Specialty Backup Available: Yes, Cath Lab, CT Scan, ICU, MRI, Physical Therapy, Behavioral Management/Psychiatry, OB/GYN, Neurosurgery, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Urology, Trauma Support Staff Available: APPs, RNs PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: Board Certified ABEM Licenses: Current Texas Medical License (required) DEA / CDS: DEA (may be in process) Certifications: ATLS, ACLS, PALS required Experience: Clean file required DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide comprehensive emergency medical care in a Level III Trauma Center. Manage 13-bed ED with support from APP coverage. Coordinate transfers for complex pediatric cases. Collaborate with multi-specialty backup team including Cath Lab, ICU, and Neurosurgery. Maintain meticulous medical records in Cerner EMR.
