Northbrook Manor Care Center is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our in-house rehabilitation team . This is an excellent opportunity for an SLP who enjoys working with adults in a supportive subacute rehabilitation/skilled nursing environment and wants to make a meaningful difference in residents' recovery and quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents with speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing disorders.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.

• Provide evidence-based speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing therapy.

• Treat residents recovering from stroke, neurological conditions, illness, injury, surgery, and other medical conditions.

• Assess and treat dysphagia and provide appropriate swallowing and dietary recommendations within the scope of practice.

• Monitor resident progress and adjust treatment plans as appropriate.

• Educate residents, families, caregivers, and facility staff regarding communication and swallowing needs.

• Participate in care plan meetings and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.

• Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation.

• Communicate changes in resident condition and treatment recommendations to appropriate team members.

• Promote resident safety, dignity, independence, and quality of life.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.

• Current Iowa SLP license or eligibility for Iowa licensure.

• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or Clinical Fellowship status.

• Previous experience in skilled nursing, subacute rehabilitation, acute care, or another medical setting is preferred but not required.

• Strong communication, organizational, and clinical skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team.

• Compassionate, dependable, and resident-focused approach to care.
