Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical/Telemetry

Position: RN MS/Tele (Ortho) Years of Experience Required: 1 year Shift hours/Contract Length: Night - 12x4 Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Requests for time off and special scheduling must be included with the submission. Facility is allowed to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks. First-time travelers are accepted. Locals are accepted. Radius rule applies. Pending license not accepted. Charting experience: 1 year of EPIC experience required. Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS. Must have orthopedic experience.

Unit Details: Ratios: 1:5-6 adult patients. The unit is a 26-bed orthopedic spine unit specializing in spinal surgeries. Integrated pain management, physical therapy, and mobility support are provided. Patient diagnoses include medical/surgical, telemetry, cardiac, low-risk acute coronary syndrome, TIAs, diabetes, hypertension, COPD, dehydration, chest pain, DVT, and PE. Special procedures include bedside lumbar puncture, post-cath care, post-surgical care, and heparin drips. Floating may be required based on facility needs and staff qualifications. Community experience preferred. Daily census: 26. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy. Travelers cannot extend for a fourth consecutive contract. Travelers need to begin the process of converting to employee status after working three consecutive contracts or after 39 weeks. If travelers do not wish to convert, they will need to take a six-month separation before returning. Travelers must be at least 100 miles from every facility to be eligible to travel. Under 50 miles is ineligible. Modules may be required to be completed before starting the assignment.
