Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

ERG is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to independently develop mechanical designs for renovations and upgrades to existing buildings at a federal site. This is a fulltime position at the Naval Support Facility (NSF) Indian Head. Indian Head, MD, is approximately 30 miles from Washington, DC, 25 miles from Alexandria, VA, and 60 miles from Fredericksburg, VA. Job Description:Primarily requires development of requirements and technical review of design packages as well as occasional design workPrepare technical memoranda/reports that summarize information, such as preventative maintenance status reports and long-term upgrade budgetary projectionsComplete facility design services and support review of designs for compliance with code and energetic manufacturing processes to help our client realize state-of-the-art facilities through construction and commissioningSupport modernizing facilities in compliance with local, state, and federal codesCollaborate/communicate effectively with other stakeholders internal to, and external to the design team (e.g., engineering and manufacturing departments) Qualifications and Skills:Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Mechanical EngineeringA minimum of 8 years experience required, 10+ years is preferredMust have a PE license or be actively pursuing licensureExperience with AutoCAD or equivalent drafting softwareExperience with HVAC system design and selectionExperience with engineering MEP construction drawing setsKnowledge of mechanical compliance within an energetic manufacturing environment, including industrial systems with strict humidity and temperature requirements and explosion-proof equipment is preferredMust currently hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret-level security clearanceMust be a U.S. citizen as this position is not eligible for Limited Access Authorizations A signing bonus may be offered to exceptionally well qualified candidates.
