This travel pharmacist position in Alaska offers the opportunity to provide pharmaceutical care in a hospital setting with a focus on medication verification and order fulfillment. The role involves working variable 8-hour shifts, with start times between 7:00 AM and 11:00 AM, including weekends. Typically, shifts are scheduled to avoid back-to-back early starts, contributing to a better work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately verify and dispense hospital pharmacy orders.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective medication use.
• Maintain compliance with hospital protocols and state pharmacy regulations.
• Adapt to variable shift schedules, including occasional holiday shifts of 4-5 hours as needed.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year hospital pharmacist experience required.
• Proficiency with standard hospital pharmacy orders and product verification.
• Experience with Cerner preferred but not mandatory.
• Valid Alaska pharmacist license or temporary license accepted. Candidates without an active Alaska license must apply for it within 24 hours of job acceptance.

Location:

• Position is based in Fairbanks, AK, with free one-bedroom housing provided (note that pet-friendly units are not available).

Schedule:

• 8-hour shifts with start times at 7:00, 8:00, 9:00, 10:00, or 11:00 AM.
• Variable days including weekends.
• Holiday shifts scheduled as needed, typically shorter duration (4-5 hours).

This contract opportunity is available for immediate start, with flexible start dates in early to mid-June.
