Your Role: As a school‑based Physical Therapist, you’ll play a key role in helping students improve their mobility, access their educational environment, and achieve greater independence. Your responsibilities will include: Evaluate Needs: Conduct comprehensive Physical Therapy evaluations using standardized tools, observations, and student‑centered assessments to determine the need for specialized services in alignment with Texas education standards. Communicate Findings: Share evaluation results with parents, educators, and district personnel, offering clear, actionable recommendations that promote students’ access to education and functional independence. Develop Interventions: Collaborate with the Individualized Education Program (IEP) team to design evidence‑based, individualized therapeutic interventions that address student‑specific needs, support functional goals, and enhance participation in the educational environment. Provide Therapy: Deliver direct therapy services or supervise licensed Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) in implementing IEP goals. Monitor Progress: Collect, analyze, and document student progress data, maintaining detailed and accurate records that inform IEP reviews and ongoing service planning. Support Teams: Actively participate in ARD meetings, parent‑teacher conferences, and multidisciplinary team discussions to advocate for students and contribute to the enhancement of special education programs.
