Job Description
Power the heartbeat of manufacturing
Our mission is simple: reliable production, every shift. As a Plant Electrical Systems Technician, you’ll protect that mission—designing, installing, troubleshooting, and improving the electrical backbone that keeps equipment running.
Your impactFrom a sudden power quality anomaly to a planned systems upgrade, you’ll take ownership. You’ll plan wiring layouts, pull conduit, connect power supply wiring to machines, and route cables between equipment. Before anything goes live, you’ll assemble components to specification and bench test them. When problems surface, you’ll dive into PLC ladder logic and circuit behavior, perform root cause analysis, and lead process improvements that prevent repeat issues.
Key responsibilities- Apply expertise across electrical systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics; use temperature and pressure gauges to validate system performance.
- Perform analog/digital circuit design utilizing microprocessor hardware and software configurations.
- Use PLCs—including basic and advanced ladder logic—to read/write from wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints to diagnose problems.
- Lead electrical/electronic installation and upgrade projects with clear execution plans.
- Connect power supply wiring to machines and equipment; route cables/wires between equipment per specifications.
- Diagnose and repair complex machinery and electrical/electronic issues, including non-routine power quality concerns.
- Assemble electrical components to spec and conduct bench testing prior to deployment.
- Read, interpret, draft, and update electrical schematics and drawings accurately.
- Plan wiring layouts; install conduit, wiring, and ancillary electrical equipment.
- Install power supply wiring and conduit; troubleshoot issues as they emerge.
- Conduct root cause analysis and provide actionable recommendations.
- Lead process improvement initiatives and support cross-functional project teams.
- Deliver advanced, complex troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
- Five years diagnosing and repairing electrical equipment or machinery, or comparable experience through trade school or training.
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Ability to read, write, interpret, and draw wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints; strong analytical diagnosis capability.
- Comprehensive understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Expert knowledge of electrical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and temperature/pressure gauge usage.
- Advanced knowledge of industrial controls and instrumentation.
- High mechanical aptitude with a proven ability to troubleshoot complex problems.
- Proficiency in modifying PLCs with advanced ladder logic and analyzing issues using wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
