Production Supervisor Job DescriptionWe are a 24/7 operation, so schedule flexibility is very important. You will be assigned a primary shift and possibly asked to assist on other shifts as needed. Night and Day shifts are available.Responsibilities: (Include, But Are Not Limited To, The Following)Manage manufacturing employees daily activities to include performance reviews and disciplinary actionsManage the day-to-day operations of the shift with constant emphasis on safety, quality, delivery and costMakes recommendations for improvements to create efficiency, reduce costs, eliminate issues, and achieve resolutionMonitor production activities to eliminate waste and ensure adherence to production and shipping scheduleWork with other team members to control and improve efficiencies, minimize labor overtime, downtime and repair expensesControl load factors and workflow to ensure maximum use of available capacity and effective use of labor, tools and equipmentMaintains a safety culture and cultivates safe behavior through development and monitoring of safety standards.Optimizes materials, schedules, and the WIP flow through the production and assembly lines to ensure a high on-time delivery rate to our customers.Oversees all individual and machine performance reports to guarantee effective operations and adherence to standards.Works in the best interest of the business by making decisions that reflect the company's core values.Assists in reporting absenteeism and time keeping.Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.Develops constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintaining them.Enters, transcribes, records, stores, or maintains information in written and/or electronic form.Identifies the developmental needs of others and coaching, mentoring, and or otherwise helping others to improve their knowledge and or skills.Performs day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files, time cards and processing paperwork.Inspects equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors and or other problems or defects.Responsible for monthly safety training of crews, the orientation of new employeesMajor Physical DemandsStanding: Most tasks are performed in a standing position with frequent walking.Lifting: Frequent lifting of items ranging in weight from 20 lbs. to 75 lbs. Crain Hoists are available.Walking: Frequent walking of short distances (approx. 200 feet or less).Carrying: Frequent carrying of items ranging in weight from 20 lbs. to 75 lbs. Crain Hoists are available.Bending: Frequent bending and crouching required to complete assembly tasks.Reaching: Continuous full range of motion from above the shoulders to below the knees.
